Wrap-up and coming back home

Hello everybody and happy new year, I'm sorry I didn't post more for the rest of the trip, we just stayed very busy and tried to enjoy as much of Cuernavaca in the last days. We had a very good New Year party and had the chance to see one of my uncle's family I hadn't have the chance to see in a long time, so it was good.
On Wednesday we went to the city of Puebla, it was cold but we had a good time. On Thursday we just stayed in Cuernavaca doing some shoppings and getting ready for the return the next day.
Friday was the day we had to come back home, my brother and mom took us to the airport and it was very hard to say good bye to them. We had a very good trip back home and no problems whatsoever.
It's time to go back to work and should be a very interesting year with a lot of changes happening at work. If anything interesting and new comes, I will let everybody know, until then Good Bye.

Back in time

On Sunday we went to the ruins of Teotihuacan, is a pre-Hispanic city and they have two big pyramids one called "piramide del Sol (sun)" and the other one is called "piramide de la Luna (moon)". We climbed the tallest one the sun pyramid that is 213 feet from the ground. It was Tess first time there and almost for me too because was very changed from the last time I went, anyway we enjoyed very much.

Visit to Mexico City

Well, Friday and Saturday we stayed in Mexico City, we got in our hotel around 3:30pm and then we went to eat to an Italian restaurant, we walk around "La zona rosa" (the pink zone) and also we tried to find some art galleries in the "condesa" but because the holiday season everything was close. In the night we went to party with my cousins Ana and Victor, they invited Veronica and we have a lot of fun.
Saturday we went to Mexico City's downtown and we visited the National Museum of Mexico, they have several exhibits including one from Spencer Tunic. After all, we returned to Cuernavaca around 8:00pm

Creating art

Yesterday Thursday, we were planning to go to the pyramids of Teotihuacán but we decided to go instead this coming Sunday. So with one day free in Cuernavaca we went to shoot some video for a project Tess has in mind, we walk all over downtown Cuernavaca and take some footage, I shoot some pictures of everyday Cuernavaca and her natural urban beauty. By the way, I have been uploading more pictures to the flickr account, so click in the photo link I have in this Blog and enjoy more pictures from Cuernavaca.
Today Friday we are going to Mexico city and we will spend the night there, I won't take the computer with me so I will try to post some updates during the weekend after we come back from Mexico city. We are planning to visit the "centro historico" (historic district) in the heart of downtown, should be interesting because Tess hasn't been there and of course I haven't been there in a long time.

Muros

Wednesday, we went to a Modern Art museum here in Cuernavaca, the name of this museum is 'Muros' or walls in English, the name comes thanks to big murals or frescos located in a building inside the museum. It is home to one of the most important collections of Mexican contemporary art and has work from Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, Gabriel Orozco and other influent Mexican artists.
We also went around Cuernavaca's downtown and had some ice cream in the main plaza.

Monday and Tuesday a Christmas Celebration

We spend these days with the family in Cuernavaca, first on Monday night -Christmas Eve- we dance, drink, had a big dinner and we exchange presents with the family, at the end we went to bed around 4:00 a.m.
Tuesday, we went with my friend Manolo and spend all day (well, what ever was left because we got up late)with his family and in the night we went to see a movie (The Golden Compass) with my cousin Paulina and with my Mom. Is cheap to go to the movies in Mexico, each ticket was $51 pesos the equivalent to $5 U.S. dollars more or less.

Beatiful Sunday

Hello !!!
This Sunday we went to a St. Augustine monastery in Tlayacapan, Morelos and they are famous because they have some mummies on display, yes! real mummies (sorry but we couldn't take pictures inside) and it was very interesting and creepy. Also we took a tour inside the monastery that was built in 1572 and was worth it to learn all the history around.
Tlayacapan is also known to have very good prices in clay pottery, so we went shopping for some typical clay plates.
That's all for now; tomorrow is Christmas Eve and in Mexico is traditional for the families to get together, have dinner and celebrate the birth of Christ. On Christmas day, is common to reheat the leftovers and continue with the celebration.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY !!!
